Are You Willing to Fight?

January 28, 2010

As I was watching Serena Williams last night in her semifinal Australian Open game against a challenging Chinese challenger Na Li it hit me how hard Serena had to fight in this game. Even though she was not having her best game, she was taped up, worn, looking a little tried, and having to fight and fight hard without help on the court, but she kept fighting. She literally fought her way through that match and on the other end was a win and a spot to play for it all in the finals. But before she could go rest and recoup from her singles match she had to go out and play the semifinal doubles with her sister Venus. I’m sure she had to dig deep within herself to refocus, be ready to play,  put herself back in that competitive mode and  hit the court with her sister to play their game and to play to win.

You ask what does this have to do with you with and your business? Sometimes we’re going to find ourselves in our businesses having to fight to keep it all going even when we feel like giving up, when we’re tried and wounded, when we don’t have the support or finances, or when we can’t see the end of the tunnel. Like in our lives, life will throw our businesses in a tail spin and we find ourselves in our singles match on court without any help or coaching and we have to fight and fight hard through the game in our to win. Yes, our supports, fans, coaches, and networking groups are in the stands cheering us on, but they cannot play the game for us (run our business for us) in the end it is our responsiblity to make it work and make it a success. AND like Serena, we find that after we’ve won our match before we can rest and recoup there’s something else waiting for us to do. It’s easy to give up, but to succeed we’re going to have to be willing to keep going, dig deep for our courage, pull our head out of the sand, and get back to work. Are you willing to fight today and everyday for your business to succeed?

By the way Serena and Venus won their semifinal doubles match later and will be playing in the finals.

Can You?

January 6, 2010

During my morning meditation I read this and it touch me and I wanted to share it.

Unhappiness is not knowing what we want and killing ourselves to get it. ~Don Harold

Can I continue to l ive in lack and limitation, denying myself the abundant goodness of the world? Or can I make a plan, follow a dream, do what I can, where I am, with what I have? Can I? Can I? Can I continue to buy into he belief hat there is not enough, I am not enough, settling for whatever I can get? Or can I do my best in every situation, expecting the best from every situation, recognizing that what I put out must come back to me tenfold? Can I? Can I? Can I continue to live in fear, complaining about what I do not have, cannot do, criticizing myself and others? Or can I take a chance, find an opportunity and know in my heart what I want to do is possible? Can I? Can I? Can I blame the world, hate my enemy,  feel sorry for myself as an excuse not to do what I desire to do? Or can I raise my consciousness, pour love into every situation and take responsibility for myself? Can I? Can I? Can YOU?

I Am responsible for doing all I can do.
